The "Allegory of the Cave" by Plato is a simple view of how the reality is a material world in a dialog occurring between Socrates and Glaucon. The main idea is to represent the true and the reality behind by the ones who have climbed out of the cave with the reflection to see the proper way ahead from the shadows.
Socrates defined the origin of reality as something or someone as a permanent element point into the line of realism. Showing a strange image and the strange prisoners with a clearly point to Glaucon but his own conclusions just to be in the future with some power of illusion over him. The shadows with the prisoners where they believe everything around them but imagine for a moment when one of the prisoners try to escape, an one coming suddenly out of the sun would not be able to see the star full of precious light because his eyes for so long have seen the darkness. Moreover, Socrates owns a poor belief over the intellectual world to understand to many people is depending over the system that whether true or false the light of fire is visible in this world but some prisoners would mistake the concept of presence for reality.
These shadows for so many prisoners are what they believe is truth without any concern of their own reality but instead of develop that the truth could be revealed in so many ways they just want to be in a stand by until one of them escapes from the cave and revealed the actual existent from a perpetual experience to the principal way to believe that it could be real.
